First seen May 31, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This small pilot study will test a non-invasive device that stimulates a nerve in the neck to help people with ALS swallow more often and feel the urge to swallow. Up to 5 participants will try the treatment in supervised sessions. The goal is to see if it's safe and feasible, not yet to prove it works.
