Prick of a finger: HIV patients may soon skip clinic blood draws

NCT ID NCT04979728

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study is testing whether people with HIV can collect small blood samples at home using a finger prick or a simple device. The goal is to see if these home-collected samples are as good as clinic-drawn blood for measuring levels of HIV medications. About 150 adults already on HIV treatment or prevention will participate for up to one year.
