First seen Jan 02, 2026 · Last updated Apr 25, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study tests whether a high-flow nasal cannula (a special oxygen delivery device) can prevent low oxygen levels during sedated endoscopy in people at high risk for obstructive sleep apnea. About 600 adults with a high STOP-Bang score (indicating sleep apnea risk) will be randomly assigned to receive either standard care or the high-flow nasal cannula during their procedure. The main goal is to see if this device reduces the chance of oxygen levels dropping too low.
