Simple heparin dressing may reduce scars and pain after skin grafts
NCT ID NCT07196358
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tested whether a dressing soaked in heparin, a blood-thinning medicine, can prevent thick, raised scars and reduce pain at the site where skin is taken for a graft. 400 patients each had one donor site treated with standard care and the other with a heparin dressing. The researchers compared scarring and pain over three months to see if this low-cost method improves healing.
