Clean air tested to ease infant breathing woes after hospitalization

NCT ID NCT05615870

Summary

This study tested whether using special HEPA air filters at home helps babies under 12 months old recover after being hospitalized for bronchiolitis. Researchers gave families either real HEPA filters or look-alike filters without the cleaning technology to compare results. They tracked the babies' breathing symptoms, hospital visits, and home air quality for 24 weeks to see if cleaner air led to better recovery.
