Heart failure patients may skip some office visits with new remote monitoring

NCT ID NCT07544771

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study compares a remote monitoring system called HeartLogic to standard in-person follow-up for people with heart failure who have a special defibrillator. About 578 adults will be randomly assigned to either get alerts from the device that prompt early check-ins or to continue regular office visits. The goal is to see if remote monitoring reduces deaths, unplanned hospital stays, and declines in quality of life over one year.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
HeartLogic algorithm (remote monitoring device software)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could make heart failure management more proactive, reducing hospital stays and improving daily life for patients.
What could go wrong
This is a mid-sized trial (578 people) testing a monitoring strategy, not a new drug. The benefit may be small or not apply to all patients, and false alerts could cause unnecessary worry or visits.
