Study tests which calculator best predicts heart surgery survival
NCT ID NCT06770738
Summary
This study looked back at past patient records to compare two different risk calculators. Researchers wanted to see which tool—EuroSCORE-II or POSPOM—was better at predicting the chance of a patient dying in the hospital after major heart surgery. The study involved 320 adults who had heart surgery between 2020 and 2024, but no new treatments were tested.
