New ultrasound test aims to spot hidden heart stiffness

Summary

This study tests a new ultrasound device that measures stiffness in the heart and liver. Researchers want to see if it can tell the difference between people with certain types of heart failure and healthy volunteers. About 150 adults aged 60 and older will take part. The goal is to improve how doctors diagnose and monitor heart conditions.
