Pacemaker 'Exercise' may strengthen weak hearts

NCT ID NCT06332391

First seen Apr 03, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study tests whether a special pacing pattern that speeds up the heart like exercise can improve heart function in people with heart failure. 52 adults with a pacemaker or defibrillator will receive either the pacing therapy or a sham (inactive) treatment for 6 weeks. Researchers will measure changes in heart pumping strength, symptoms, and quality of life to see if this approach could become a new therapy.
