NCT ID NCT07147114
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether adding macitentan to the standard drug dapagliflozin improves outcomes for people with heart failure and a specific type of high blood pressure in the lungs. 64 adults in South Korea will take either the combo or dapagliflozin alone for 24 weeks. Researchers will measure changes in lung pressure, heart strain, walking ability, and quality of life.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
macitentan and dapagliflozin combination
What this could lead to
If successful, this could point to a more effective treatment for heart failure patients with a specific type of pulmonary hypertension, potentially improving heart function and quality of life.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-phase (Phase 4) exploratory trial with only 64 participants. The combination may not show significant benefit over standard care, and side effects from the drugs are possible.
