Scientists probe Blood's tiny Clot-Makers after heart attacks

NCT ID NCT03022552

Summary

This study aims to learn more about platelets—tiny blood cells involved in clotting—in people who have had a heart attack. Researchers will collect blood samples from 350 participants during their initial hospital procedure and again two months later. The goal is to compare platelet activity and genetics between men and women to better understand heart attack causes and potential future treatments.
