Summary
This study tested whether hearing aids can improve thinking, daily behavior, and quality of life in people with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease who also have age-related hearing loss. Fifty-one participants were split into two groups: one got real hearing aids for 12 months, the other got placebo devices for 6 months followed by real aids. Researchers measured changes in memory, mood, and daily activities.
