Can hearing aids prevent dementia? major 6-Year study seeks answer

NCT ID NCT05532657

Summary

This study is following older adults for six years to see if using hearing aids can slow down memory loss and thinking problems, and reduce the risk of developing dementia. It builds on a previous 3-year trial and involves about 629 participants aged 70-84 who have untreated hearing loss. The goal is to determine if treating hearing loss is a long-term strategy to protect brain health as people age.
