First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether doing simple handgrip exercises at home for 8 weeks can lower blood pressure in people with chronic kidney disease (CKD). What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a simple, drug-free way to help manage blood pressure in people with chronic kidney disease.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage study (50 people) testing a behavioral intervention, so results may not be generalizable. The effect on blood pressure may be modest or not clinically significant.
