Light therapy could replace surgery for cervical precancer

NCT ID NCT07634497

First seen Jun 10, 2026 · Last updated Jun 11, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests a light-activated drug (HAL-PDT) to treat cervical precancer (CIN2) in 500 women aged 18–50. The treatment is applied directly to the cervix and activated by a special light, aiming to destroy abnormal cells. The main goal is to see if the cervix returns to normal or has only mild changes after 6 months. This approach may offer a non-surgical option for women with this condition.
