Can a simple device accurately measure balance in Parkinson's?

NCT ID NCT07327346

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looks at whether a device called GYKO can reliably measure balance in people with Parkinson's disease during walking tests. Twenty-five participants will perform two common balance tasks while wearing the device, and their results will be compared between two raters and again one week later. No treatment is given—the goal is simply to see if the device provides consistent and valid measurements.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to

If successful, this could provide a reliable, low-cost way to measure balance problems in Parkinson's disease, helping doctors track disease progression more accurately.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage reliability study with only 25 participants. It does not test any treatment, so even if the device works well, it won't directly improve patient health.
