First seen Feb 14, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study looks at whether treating gum disease (periodontitis) can improve heart failure in adults. About 80 people will get dental cleaning and have their blood and saliva tested for heart failure markers over 6 months. The goal is to see if better gum health can lower a key heart stress chemical called NT-proBNP. Participants continue their regular heart medications throughout the study.
