Could a common amino acid soothe stomach pain?

NCT ID NCT05655819

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This small study tested whether taking glutamine powder three times a day can reduce stomach symptoms and improve gut barrier health in people with functional dyspepsia (chronic indigestion without a clear cause). Twelve participants were randomly assigned to receive either glutamine or a placebo for a set period. Researchers measured symptom changes using questionnaires and a urine test for intestinal permeability.
