New heart device registry aims to tame irregular heartbeat
NCT ID NCT07651852
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This registry will follow 500 people with symptomatic atrial fibrillation who are scheduled for a heart ablation using the Globe Pulsed Field System. The goal is to see how well the device controls the heart rhythm over 12 months and to track any major side effects within the first week. By collecting real-world data, researchers hope to confirm the device's safety and effectiveness outside of controlled clinical trials.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Globe Pulsed Field System (a device that uses pulsed field energy to ablate heart tissue)
What this could lead to
If successful, this registry could confirm that the Globe Pulsed Field System is a safe and effective option for controlling atrial fibrillation in routine practice.
What could go wrong
This is an observational registry, not a controlled trial, so results may be influenced by patient selection or site practices. The primary safety endpoint only covers 7 days, so longer-term risks may not be fully captured.
