First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tests whether a natural compound from soy, called genistein, can slow down memory and thinking problems in people with mild cognitive impairment (MCI), often an early sign of Alzheimer's disease. About 150 adults over 50 with MCI will take either genistein or a placebo daily for 18 months. Researchers will track changes in cognitive function and daily living skills to see if the supplement helps preserve brain health.
