Summary
This study aims to understand the step-by-step process that causes type 1 diabetes by looking at genetics and environment. Researchers will follow families with a history of the disease, as well as healthy controls, for up to 10 years. Participants provide a blood sample, medical history, and annual checkups. The goal is to learn how autoimmunity starts, not to test a treatment.
