DNA test could prevent dangerous reactions to Kids' antidepressants

NCT ID NCT06763081

Summary

This study aims to find genetic markers that can predict which children and young adults might experience a troubling side effect called 'behavioral activation' from common antidepressant medications (SSRIs). Researchers will compare the DNA of 160 young people (ages 6-24) who either did or did not experience this side effect. The goal is to create a future genetic test that helps doctors choose safer treatments for depression, anxiety, and OCD.
