First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study follows 25 people aged 2 to 65 with chronic brain injury (HIE) or cerebral palsy who have chosen to receive an experimental gene therapy abroad. The therapy is given as a nasal spray and delivers 15 genes meant to repair brain cells, reduce inflammation, and improve movement and thinking. Researchers will track changes in motor skills, cognition, and quality of life over a year to see if the treatment helps. This is an observational registry, not a controlled trial, so results will guide future studies.
