First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tests a non-invasive procedure called ExAblate MR-guided focused ultrasound for people with moderate to severe obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) who haven't improved with standard treatments. The procedure uses sound waves to target a small area in the brain thought to be involved in OCD. Researchers want to see if it is safe and can reduce OCD symptoms and improve quality of life. The study involves 66 adults aged 25-64 and compares the procedure to a sham (fake) treatment.
