First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This completed trial tested a new, noninvasive device that uses focused ultrasound to destroy a small amount of fat around the kidney. The goal was to lower blood pressure in people with mild hypertension who were not taking medication. 79 participants were randomly assigned to receive either the real ultrasound or a sham procedure, and their blood pressure was monitored over one to three months.
