First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tested a treatment called focused ultrasound (HIFU) for men with intermediate-risk prostate cancer. The goal was to destroy only the cancerous part of the prostate, avoiding common side effects like incontinence and impotence from standard treatments. 174 men participated, and researchers checked if the cancer was controlled one year later.
