Heat-Sensing camera could gauge CRPS pain severity

NCT ID NCT05852210

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tested whether a special infrared (FLIR) camera can help measure pain and disease severity in people newly diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). Thirty adults with CRPS in one limb had a thermal picture taken of their foot and answered pain questionnaires. The goal was to see if temperature differences between the affected and healthy limb match the patient's reported pain and severity scores.
