Home visits aim to cut stoma complications after cancer surgery

NCT ID NCT07463690

Summary

This study is testing a new 'Flipped Discharge' support program for colorectal cancer patients who have a new stoma after surgery. The program shifts key care and education from the hospital to the home, providing a nurse visit or intensive video follow-up a few days after patients go home. Researchers want to see if this extra support reduces stoma-related complications and improves patients' quality of life and ability to care for themselves.
