New radiation technique aims to spare surgical flaps in oral cancer patients

Summary
This study tests a new way to give radiation after oral cancer surgery that avoids treating the surgical flap. The goal is to see if this approach can reduce side effects like mouth and throat problems while still controlling the cancer. About 348 adults who had reconstructive surgery with a flap will take part. The experimental group gets flap-sparing radiation, while the control group gets standard radiation.
