Could a simple risk score catch a dangerous heart condition before it strikes?
NCT ID NCT05898165
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tested whether a risk score, calculated from electronic health records, can help identify people with hidden atrial fibrillation (AF) — a common heart rhythm problem that raises stroke risk. About 1,955 adults aged 30 and older with higher stroke risk scores used a remote ECG monitor at home. The goal was to see if those flagged as higher risk by the score were more likely to be diagnosed with AF during monitoring, compared to lower-risk individuals.
