Could a simple fibre supplement reshape your gut microbiome?
NCT ID NCT07781488
First seen Aug 24, 2026 · Last updated Aug 25, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This trial tests whether a daily fibre supplement, taken for 8 weeks, can improve gut health and ease symptoms like bloating, indigestion, and irregular bowel movements. Fifty adults who experience digestive discomfort will take the supplement each morning and answer questionnaires about their symptoms and well-being. A subgroup will also provide stool samples to see if the supplement changes the balance of bacteria in the gut.

- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could point toward a simple, natural way to support gut health and ease common digestive discomfort.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage trial with no comparison group, so results may not be conclusive or apply to everyone. Some people may experience digestive upset when increasing fibre.
