New MRI method aims to solve brain tumor treatment mystery
NCT ID NCT03347617
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tested whether a special MRI using ferumoxytol (an iron-based dye) can help doctors tell if a brain tumor (glioblastoma) is truly shrinking from immunotherapy or just showing temporary swelling from treatment. About 52 patients were planned, but the study was stopped early. The goal was to improve how we measure treatment response, not to cure the disease.
