First seen Apr 25, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looks at whether measuring the size of the femoral vein compared to the femoral artery in the leg using ultrasound can help doctors decide if a critically ill patient in the ICU needs more fluids. It involves 100 adults on breathing machines who already have special monitoring for shock. The goal is to find a simple, non-invasive way to guide fluid treatment and avoid giving unnecessary fluids.
