New mobilization and exercise techniques show promise for easing period pain

NCT ID NCT07314021

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jul 01, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tested two non-drug approaches—FEMOB mobilization and MOPEXE exercises—for reducing pain in women with primary dysmenorrhea (period pain). 72 women aged 18-30 were split into four groups: one received FEMOB, one MOPEXE, one electrotherapy only, and one no treatment. The goal was to see which method best eased pain and improved attitudes toward menstruation.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

FEMOB mobilization technique (including TENS, hot pack, joint mobilizations, myofascial release, and kinesio taping) and MOPEXE exercise model (motor imagery-focused exercises with electrotherapy)

What this could lead to

If successful, these techniques could offer drug-free options for managing period pain.

What could go wrong

This is a small, completed study with no blinding, so results may be less reliable. The techniques are not widely tested, and individual results may vary.
