Could a leg tube save lives? new study tests prehospital blood pressure monitoring in cardiac arrest

NCT ID NCT07596446

First seen May 23, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study looks at whether placing a small tube in the leg artery of people who have a cardiac arrest outside the hospital is safe and practical. The tube allows paramedics to monitor blood pressure continuously and adjust medications more precisely. The goal is to see if this approach can prevent another cardiac arrest and improve outcomes. About 60 adults with non-traumatic cardiac arrest will take part.
