Summary

This study tests whether a single training session can improve police officers' ability to recognize agonal breathing — an abnormal gasping pattern that can be mistaken for normal breathing during cardiac arrest. Over 3,400 officers in New Taipei City will take a 20-minute CPR refresher and a 40-minute agonal breathing recognition course. Their knowledge and recognition accuracy will be measured before and right after the training using anonymous online questionnaires.
