First seen Mar 20, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This early-phase study tests whether fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) can improve both gastrointestinal and autism-related symptoms in 60 people aged 7–30 with autism and gut issues. FMT aims to restore healthy gut bacteria, which may reduce digestive discomfort, autistic behaviors, and emotional problems. The study is still recruiting and will measure changes using symptom rating scales.
