NCT ID NCT04626973

First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study looked at whether aiming for a very low LDL-cholesterol level (below 55 mg/dL) is better than a standard target (below 70 mg/dL) in people with heart or blood vessel disease. About 3,000 adults in Asia took either a statin alone or a statin plus ezetimibe to lower their cholesterol. The goal was to see if the more aggressive target reduced the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and other heart-related events.
