Summary
This study looked at 25 adults in the intensive care unit with moderate to severe acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). Researchers tested a new, simple way to measure if the small airways in the lungs close during normal breathing. The goal was to better understand how the lungs are working, not to provide a new treatment.
