Sweat before you talk: exercise may supercharge depression therapy

NCT ID NCT07221929

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study looks at whether doing moderate aerobic exercise right before a cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) session makes the therapy work better. One hundred adults with major depression will either exercise or rest quietly before each of 8 weekly therapy sessions. Researchers will measure how strong the patient-therapist bond becomes and how much the person's mood and daily activity improve.
