First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether taking creatine, a common dietary supplement, can help breast cancer survivors regain strength and endurance faster when combined with a 12-week exercise program. Sixty women who recently finished chemotherapy will be randomly assigned to exercise with or without creatine. The goal is to see if creatine boosts the benefits of exercise on muscle function and body composition.

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only โ€” not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
creatine (dietary supplement)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a simple, safe way to help breast cancer survivors recover muscle strength and energy more quickly after chemotherapy.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 60 participants. The results may not apply to all survivors, and creatine might not provide extra benefit beyond exercise alone.
