First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study is testing a new type of spinal cord stimulator that automatically adjusts its signal based on how your nerves respond. It aims to improve pain relief and quality of life for 25 adults with long-term, hard-to-treat pain in the trunk or limbs. The device is already approved, and this research looks at how well it works in everyday use.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Evoke closed-loop spinal cord stimulator (device)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that closed-loop spinal cord stimulation provides better, more consistent pain relief for people with chronic pain.
What could go wrong
This is a small, observational study with no control group, so results may not apply to everyone. The device requires surgery and carries risks like infection or lead movement.
