Nerve block may cut pain and opioid use after kidney transplant
NCT ID NCT07369323
First seen Jan 28, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study tested whether a specific nerve block (erector spinae plane block) can improve pain control after kidney transplant surgery. 40 adults with kidney failure were randomly assigned to receive either the nerve block plus standard painkillers or standard painkillers alone. The goal was to see if the block lowers pain scores and reduces the need for strong opioid pain relievers.
