Engineered immune cells take aim at a common pancreatic cancer mutation

NCT ID NCT07649928

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This early-phase trial tests an experimental drug called ES502 in people with advanced pancreatic cancer that has a specific genetic change (RAS G12V) and who have run out of standard treatments. ES502 is a lab-made protein designed to guide the body's immune T-cells to attack cancer cells carrying that mutation. The study's main goals are to check the drug's safety and find the best dose, while also watching for any signs that tumors shrink or stop growing.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

ES502 injection (a bispecific T-cell receptor fusion protein targeting RAS G12V)

What this could lead to

If successful, this could point toward a new treatment option for people with advanced pancreatic cancer who have the RAS G12V mutation and no other options.

What could go wrong

This is a very early, small study (24 people) focused on safety. The treatment may not shrink tumors or could cause serious side effects. Success in this phase does not guarantee broader benefit.
