First seen Feb 26, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tests whether a three-week virtual reality brain-training program, combined with a daily supplement called sodium butyrate, can improve memory and thinking in 160 middle-aged and older adults who have had depression or bipolar disorder but are currently stable. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of four groups to compare the effects of the supplement and training versus placebo and a control activity. The goal is to see if this combination can boost cognitive function and brain health.
