New hope for tough lymphoma: drug combo aims to boost transplant success
NCT ID NCT07365306
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This phase 2 trial tests whether adding the immunotherapy epcoritamab to standard chemo (R-GemOx) before an autologous stem cell transplant can improve outcomes for people with relapsed or refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). The study enrolls 43 adults whose lymphoma has returned or not responded to prior treatment. Epcoritamab works by bringing immune T cells close to lymphoma cells to kill them, while the chemo helps clear the cancer before transplant.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Epcoritamab (a bispecific antibody) combined with rituximab, gemcitabine, and oxaliplatin (chemotherapy), followed by an autologous stem cell transplant
What this could lead to
If successful, this combination could offer a more effective salvage therapy before stem cell transplant, potentially improving remission rates for patients with hard-to-treat DLBCL.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-phase (Phase 2) trial with only 43 participants, so results may not apply broadly. The treatment involves strong chemotherapy and stem cell transplant, which carry risks like infection and organ damage.
