Could a simple blood or urine test replace painful biopsies for kids with this gut disease?
NCT ID NCT03822325
First seen Jun 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 10, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study aims to find out if measuring certain inflammatory markers in blood and urine can tell if a child's esophagus is inflamed, potentially reducing the need for tissue biopsies. Researchers will compare these non-invasive test results with actual biopsy samples from 88 children aged 1-18. The goal is to develop a simpler, less invasive way to monitor the disease and guide treatment.
