First seen Jan 17, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study aims to find out if things in the environment, like heavy metals from gold mining, certain viruses, or traditional plant remedies, are linked to nerve damage (peripheral neuropathy) in French Guiana. Researchers will compare 78 people with and without nerve damage to see what exposures might be responsible. The goal is to better understand why some cases of nerve damage have no clear cause.
