New cyst treatment may save ovarian function
NCT ID NCT06775769
First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tests whether a less invasive procedure called sclerotherapy (injecting alcohol into the cyst) can preserve ovarian health better than standard surgical removal for women with endometriomas. Sixty women aged 18-40 with cysts 2cm or larger will be randomly assigned to one of the two treatments. Researchers will measure ovarian reserve, cyst recurrence, and symptoms over two years to see which approach is safer and more effective.
