NCT ID NCT05940246
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested whether motivational interviewing, a counseling technique that helps people set and reach personal goals, could boost satisfaction in 149 patients undergoing knee replacement for osteoarthritis. Researchers measured how satisfied patients were with their rehabilitation and their new knee. The goal is to find a simple, supportive way to improve outcomes for the 10% of patients who remain unhappy after surgery.

What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a simple, drug-free way to improve recovery and satisfaction after knee replacement surgery.
